The writing life has its ups and
downs. If any writer tells you differently, they are lying, lying,
lying. Writers are faced with self judgment, extreme sense of
accomplishment, self ridicule, happiness from expression, and the
ultimate self doubt. That's only to name a few. That's not just
limited to all those unpublished writers out there either. Amazing
writers such as John Steinbeck, have expressed the same frustration
and doubts as you and I do, despite their success.
But we love it, right? If we didn't, we wouldn't do it. I have high hopes of earning a comfortable living in the future with my writing. That's my goal. They say that if you do what you love, the money will follow. Whoever said that better be right! But until then, I write for free. As you have probably guessed I am currently unpublished. I have written a handful of short stories, two children's books, and two Novels. Most of my work is in a constant state of rework, but who's isn't! I'm currently rewriting The Waking Hour. It's my second novel and seems to be coming along nicely. Don't ask me tomorrow, I just may feel differently. My first novel, A Ripple in the Water, is stashed in a drawer safely protected from my ego. Or rather, my ego is safely protected from it.
